Kritik is now available for D2L Brightspace institutions using Dynamic Registration, allowing LMS Admins to install Kritik with just a few clicks - no developer keys, complex configurations, or third-party setup required.
Integration Steps:
Step 1: Log into the D2L Brightspace Admin account and navigate to the 'Settings' icon
Step 2: Click 'Manage Extensibility'
Note: If you do not have 'Manage Extensibility' pinned, search for it instead in the search box.
Step 3: Navigate to 'LTI Advantage', and then click 'Register Tool'
Step 4: Select 'Dynamic' as the registration type, and enter the U.S. Dynamic Registration link, which is https://us.kritik.io/api/v1/lti/register
Note: Make sure the 'Configure Deployment' box is checked.
Once that is set up, click 'Register'. A window/tab will pop up confirming that the registration is complete.
Step 5: Once you've clicked register, the registration is complete. Now, return to 'Manage Extensibility', and click 'LTI Advantage' again
Step 6: When a tool is first registered, it is automatically set as 'Disabled'. Click on the 'Disabled' button, checkmark the 'Kritik' tool, and then click 'Enable'
Step 7: The Kritik tool is now Enabled. Double check to make sure it is Enabled.
Step 8: Now that the tool is enabled, click into the blue 'Kritik' link in the Enabled section, and scroll down to 'View Deployments'
Step 9: Once you've clicked View Deployments, you'll be directed to the External Learning Tools page. Click the blue 'Kritik' link under 'Deployment Name'
Step 10: Under 'Security Settings', Check the 'User Information' box. This will ensure all relevant sub-options underneath (Name, Email, User ID, Username, and Org Defined ID) are automatically enabled.
Step 11: Now, click 'Add Org Units', and locate 'Kritik'. Make sure that the 'This org unit and all descendants' option is selected, and click 'Add'
Step 12: Once your security settings and org unit settings are set up, click 'Save'
You're all set!
With the new Kritik integration is set up, all instructors within your selected org unit(s) will be able to add Kritik directly to their D2L Brightspace courses.
Important: If your institution previously had an older Kritik integration enabled, please ensure it is disabled to avoid conflicts. Both integrations cannot run simultaneously as this will cause launch errors for instructors and students.
If you have any questions or run into any issues during setup, feel free to reach out to our LMS team at lms@kritik.io.
