Students have the ability to flag peer creations during the Evaluate stage if they believe there are issues with the content. This ensures that potential problems can be addressed promptly by instructors, improving the quality and integrity of peer evaluations.

How to Flag a Creation

  1. While in the Evaluate stage, students look for the option to Flag Creation.

  2. When flagging a creation, they'll need to choose from the following options to specify the issue:

    • Potential plagiarism – If you suspect the creation has been copied from another source.

    • Potential AI content – If you believe AI tools have been used without proper disclosure.

    • Inappropriate content – If the submission contains offensive or inappropriate material.

    • Other – For any other issue not covered by the above categories.

  3. Explain your reasoning: After selecting the issue, students are able to add an option comment explaining the reason why they flagged the creation. The reason will appear in the red box alerting you to the flagged content as pictured below.

A creation can only be flagged once. Once that creation has been flagged by a student evaluator for a one of the specific reasons, other students will not be able to flag that creation for that reason. Instead, that option will become greyed out for other evaluators. When these students hover over the greyed out reason, there will be a tool tip that will inform students that the creation has already been flagged for that reason by another evaluator.

How to Handle Flagged Creations

Once a creation is flagged, the instructor will be notified in the daily open actions email as well as in the Kritik app by navigating to their open action items within the activity. Instructors are responsible for reviewing and resolving any flagged content based on the issue raised by students.

  1. Locate Action Items: In the top right corner of the activity page, above the activity schedule, flagged creations will appear as action items.

Note: Action Items will only appear if there are pending actions for the Instructor. If there are no pending actions, the Action Items section will not appear.

  2. Access the Action Items Page: Click on "View Details" to open the Action Items page, where all flagged creations and other pending action items are listed.

  3. Review the Flagged Creation: Click on a flagged creation from the Action Items page. This will navigate you directly to the specific student's submission for review.

  4. Take appropriate action:

    • Contact the student whose creation was flagged if further clarification or correction is needed.

    • Resolve the flag once the issue has been addressed, clearing it from your pending actions.

    • Adjust Score and Resolve will trigger the score adjustment modal to appear, which allows instructors to apply an overall penalty to the student's creation score.

      • Reduce the Creation score by a specific percentage without affecting the evaluation scores and grading power of evaluators of that creation.

      • Provide a reason for adjusting score.
