The Similarity Report is a tool that helps instructors identify any instances of plagiarism in student submissions stemming from students submitting similar work to their peers. This feature ensures that all work submitted is original and adheres to the highest standards of academic honesty.

Enabling the Similarity Report

This is a premium feature that is currently only available upon request. To request this functionality, please contact our Suppor team via Live Chat. Once this feature is enabled for your account, you can choose which courses or specific activities would scan for similarities by enabling the Similarity Report setting either in the course or activity settings.

How It Works

Once an activity enters the grading stage, all student submissions will automatically be scanned to identify any potential instances of plagiarism. The report compares the submitted content against all previous submissions in the instructor's current and past courses.

If the system detects any significant overlaps that indicate potential plagiarism, the creation will be flagged for the instructor to review.

Accessing the Similarity Report

To investigate the flagged submission, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Action Items page, where flagged submissions will be listed as "Potential Plagiarism".

  2. Select the flagged student's submission to open the Similarity Report

The report will provide a breakdown of any matched content, including the original sources. This allows instructors to assess the severity of the plagiarism and take appropriate action.
