How to Spell Check and Grammar Check Work in the Writing Authorship Editor

Steps

  1. Enter your text in the Writing Authorship editor.

  2. Click the Revise Spelling & Grammar button at the top of the editor.

Note: The tool scans the full document, including the first page header, body, and the last page footer.

  3. Review suggested revisions in the pop-up tab. Scroll through each suggested revision to Accept or Reject it, or choose to Accept all or Reject all revisions.

Note: The Revise Spelling & Grammar check shows each mistake as a word-level before and after in the editor (strikethrough original, replacement beside it).

Important Information

  • Strict Focus: The Revise Spelling & Grammar check sends sentences to an LLM for spelling, grammar, and punctuation only. It does not rephrase, change tone, or swap in synonyms.

  • Authorship & Insight impact: When revising spelling and grammar, the authorship types stay the same (Original, Pasted, AI, or AI Revised). It has no effect on any Insights and does not count toward AI revised content.
