How to Customize the Guiding Assistant in Writing Authorship Activities

Navigate to the Activities sidebar.

Select an Individual Writing Authorship Tracking activity type.

Note: If editing an existing activity, click on the activity you'd like, click "Edit Activity" and begin following the steps listed below.

Continue to the Activity Details page.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Guiding under the AI Assistant tab. The Guiding AI Assistant will be highlighted in pink when selected.

1. Login to the course.
2. Navigate to the Activities sidebar.
3. Click Create Activity
4. Select Create from Scratch
5. Choose Create manually
6. Select an Individual Writing Authorship Tracking activity type. 
 Note: If editing an existing activity, click on the activity you'd like, click "Edit Activity" and begin following the steps listed below.
7. Continue to the Activity Details page.
8. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Guiding under the AI Assistant tab. The Guiding AI Assistant will be highlighted in pink when selected. 
9. Click Customize Assistant.

Note: The customizations are pre-configured. You may edit the pre-configured text under each customization. If you enter your own customized text and would like to revert to the pre-configured customization text, you may click Reset to default.

10. (Optional) If you'd like to test how the customized guiding assistant will respond to student's prompts, click the Save and Test button at the bottom of the Authorship Options page. A section will open where you can send a message to see how the AI assistant will respond.

11. If you are happy with the customized guiding assistant's responses, click the purple Save and Continue button at the bottom of the page to continue creating your activity!
