Late Accommodations for Writing Authorship Activities: Individual and Peer Assessment

If your instructor grants you a late accommodation for a Writing Authorship activity, your due date and submission process will adjust automatically.

Key Things to Know About Late Accommodations

  1. Your deadline changes, but the class schedule stays the same: A late accommodation extends your individual submission deadline for the Create stage. The rest of the class will move forward on schedule, but you will not be marked as "Missed" while your accommodation is active.

  2. Status tags: While your extension is active and before you submit, your status will display as Overdue (instead of Missed). Once you submit your creation, your work will be submitted normally.

  3. Editing before the extended deadline: You can unsubmit and resubmit your creation as many times as you like before your extended due date and time.

  4. Activity completion ends extensions: If your instructor marks the activity as complete, all active accommodations for that activity end immediately.

How Accommodations Work with Peer Assessment

Peer Assessment activities have an Evaluate and Feedback stage following the Create stage.

  1. Unlocking Evaluation: You will gain access to the Evaluate stage as soon as you submit your creation, even if the rest of the class has already started evaluating.

  2. Completing Feedback: Once the Evaluation stage closes, you can proceed to the Feedback stage as normal.

Need a Late Accommodation?

Instructors must approve any extensions before they can be applied to your activity.

If you require an extension:

  1. Contact your instructor directly to request approval.

  2. Once approved, either your instructor will grant the accommodation in Kritik, or you can contact the Live Chat with proof of instructor approval, and our support team can grant you the accommodation.

How to View My Late Accommodation Due Date

Steps

  1. Login to your course.

  2. Click into the activity you requested a late accommodation for.

  3. Hover your mouse over the clock icon in the top left of the editor.

  4. If you were granted a late accommodation, your extended due date will appear.
