Authenticity Score with Authorship Tracking

Learn about our Authenticity Score feature and how it further supports academic integrity.

Written by Support Team

When Authorship Tracking is enabled, Authenticity Score will be included, allowing instructors to set an AI and pasted policy for the assignment, further supporting academic integrity.

What is the Authenticity Score and How Does It Work?

The Authenticity Score measures a student’s originality based on the AI policy settings defined by the instructor.

Instructors have the choice of setting the thresholds for both content types: AI Content and Pasted Content. These settings help define clear expectations for student originality.

In order to set a threshold for Pasted Content, make sure that "Allow students to paste from outside sources" is turned on.

How the Authenticity Score is Calculated

The Authenticity Score helps instructors understand how much students rely on AI or external content. It provides insights into student work, with the score decreasing from 100% as reliance on such content grows. The goal is to signal when students exceed the set originality expectations.

Note: The Authenticity Score is set to 50/50 for AI Content and Pasted Content % by default. Be sure to adjust your thresholds before proceeding to Authorship Options!
